Hunter Education Requirement

A person born on or after June 1, 1975 may not be issued a hunting license in Florida without first have successfully completed a hunter safety course. Hunters affected by this requirement must present proof of satisfactory completion of Florida's hunter education course or an approved course provided by another state or province when purchasing a license.

Hunter Safety Mentoring Exemption

Effective August 1, 2006, anyone 16 years or older and born after May 31, 1975 can hunt under the supervision of a licensed hunter, 21 or older, without having to complete the state's hunter safety certification. Visit MyFWC.com for more details.
