Vehicle License Plate Information Military Information

A Military resident of Florida stationed outside of the state and still wanting to register a vehicle in Florida must send his/her renewal card, his/her physical residence address in Florida, an out of state mailing address, an affidavit for exemption of Florida insurance stating that the vehicle is used in Florida for transient purposes only, and a copy of the orders showing the owner is stationed outside of Florida.

A Military non-resident of the state of Florida must send in his/her renewal card, proof of insurance, and an affidavit stating the owner is still an out of state resident stationed in Florida.

Nonresident Military Registrations

Nonresident service members may choose to display the current plate from their home state or from the state where they are stationed.

If the nonresident service member chooses to register their vehicle in Florida the following is required:

  • Copy of military orders showing the assignments to a Florida duty station
  • Copy of service out of state driver licenses
  • Vehicle title (if vehicle is to be titled and registered) TL-10
  • Proof of ownership (for registration only) RS-04
  • Initial Registration Fee Exemption Affidavit Form 82002
  • Proof of Insurance Form 83330
  • Vehicle identification number verification (VIN) and odometer reading verification Form 82042
