Registration Renewal

Registration renewal notices are mailed in the month preceding the expiration of the registration. However, registrations may be renewed three months prior to the expiration date. Florida law requires license plates and registrations to be renewed before they expire. Mailing and residential addresses must be kept current.

Registrations expire at midnight on the owner’s birthday unless the vehicle is one of the following:

  • Lease vehicle (staggered expiration according to name of lease company)
  • Business owned vehicles expire at midnight on June 30th
  • Trucks over 5,000 lbs, semi trailers and 9+ passenger vehicles for hire expire at midnight on December 31st
  • Mobile home registrations expire at midnight on December 31st

A delinquent fee is due after the 10th day of the month following expiration.

Registration decals are placed in the upper right corner of the metal plate. Mobile home registration decals are placed in the lower left corner of the window facing the access road to the home. A mobile home registration is required for each unit of the home.
